Video – Chandigarh Police removed the turban of a Sikh youth and beat up his family on the road


Chandigarh Police removed the turban of two Sikh youth and beat up his family on the road after refusing to pay a bribe. The police pulled over their car and attempted to get money from the family over window screening.

The Sikh family stated they rather have a ticket than give a bribe which frustrated the police officers. The police started to beat them with a large non-wood baton which caused both of their turbans to fall.

Bystanders gather quickly after seeing the open hair of the two Sikh individuals and soon after media arrived on the scene.

Sikh youth’s turban removed, blame on traffic police

The Sikh family stated they rather have a ticket than give a bribe which frustrated the police officers. The police removed the turban of the youth’s father and than of the youth.

 After beating and turban removal a small clash occurred between the police and bystanders. A drama unfolded after local Sikhs gathered to protest against the police for violating religious rights.
