The Sikh Relief team have been inundated with well wishes and enquiries as to Bhai Balbir Singh Bains health, after he suffered a serious fall while at work yesterday.
Today, doctors carried out an MRI examination to assess the full damage and to make a plan on how best to operate, as he has broken 5 bones in the back of his neck. Although he is still in a lot of pain, the wonderful doctors and nursing staff at Oxford University Hospital have kept him comfortable.
On behalf of the Bains family and the Sikh Relief team, we wish to thank the Sangat for their unwavering support at this difficult time and pray that Waheguru will continue to watch over him.
Bhai Balbir Singh Bains Suffers Serious Injuries After A Fall At Work
The Sikh Relief team are deeply saddened to report that Bhai Balbir Singh Bains (founder of SOPW/Sikh Relief) has suffered serious neck and spinal injuries due to a fall at work in the early hours of the morning. He is currently undergoing treatment in a specialist trauma unit and his family have humbly requested for the Sangat to pray for his well being and speedy recovery.
Bhai Balbir Singh is one of those rare souls who dedicates every hour of his day, to the service of others less fortunate. Each day, he tirelessly supports the families of political prisoners and shaheed parivaars ensuring their needs are met, then by night he works as a fork lift operator. The rest of the team at Sikh Relief are in awe of what he has accomplished and it’s in his inspirational footsteps, that we follow.
May Akal Purakh bless him with a return to full health so he may continue to serve as a role model to all those who wish to carry out true seva.
