In their latest move against the Sikh protestors who supported the peaceful protests against the sacrilege of Guru Granth Sahib in Kotkapura, Panjab police have registered ‘attempted murder’ cases against a number of well known Sikh preachers as well as a large number of activists who joined the sit-down protest.
Panthpreet Singh, Amrik Singh Ajnala, Ranjit Singh Dhadrianwale, Rajinder Singh Manjhi, Sarabjit Singh Dhunda, Daler Singh Kheri and Sukhjit Singh Khosa are among the dozens of activists who have been charged for conspiring to disrupt peace in Panjab.
They have been slapped with charges ranging from; attempt to murder, arson, assault on police forces, theft, inflicting grievous injuries on police officials, using explosive substances and obstructing public ways.
In the past hour, it has been reported that Sukhbir Badal, Deputy Chief Minister of Panjab, has now issued orders to the police to withdraw all cases registered against the Sikhs over the last few days.
Video footage of the protests clearly shows the level of police violence unleashed on the Sikhs and also proves that police officers can be seen vandalising their own vehicles.
First they attack and kill Sikhs and destroy their own property; then they arrest those very Sikhs they attacked and charge them with the crimes carried out by the police?
