The tremendous snowfall can be seen at Sri Hemkunt Sahib Ji creating a challenge for the yatra to open successfully on June 1. The sarovaar was still frozen but many volunteers have conducted work to clear the snow for tourists.
The army also arrived to help in the clearing of snow efforts. The official journey to Hemkunt Sahib starts on June 1 and volunteers are making all efforts to meet the deadline.
The government has sent multiple teams to clear the record snowfall. The heavy snow fall has made the long journey difficult for tourists and it waits to be seen how fast the volunteers are able to remove the snow.
